Reverend Dr. Larry Isaacs
December 21, 1931 - July 09, 2010 Reverend Dr. Larry L. Isaacs passed away and entered his heavenly home July 9th, 2010. Born December 21, 1931 in Jenkins, Kentucky, to Mr. T.A. Isaacs and Goldia Isaacs. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in 1954 where he faithfully pastured churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina for more than 54 years. He attended the Lexington Baptist College, Cumberland Baptist College in Williamsburg, Kentucky and graduated in 1969 from Carson Newman Baptist College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. He received his Masters of Divinity degree after three years of study at Southeastern Seminary, and his Doctorate of Ministry degree two years later. He was married to Joyce Fae Slusher of London, Kentucky for 55 years and had two children, Sandra Groce of Raleigh, North Carolina and Larry Isaacs of Concord, North Carolina. Four grandchildren, Keith Groce of Raleigh, North Carolina, Brian Groce and his wife Muriel of San Diego California, and Chad Groce of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Kristen Isaacs of Salisbury, North Carolina. Two great granddaughters Annabelle and Madeleine Groce of San Diego, California. He is survived by two sisters Glorene Bruner and Shirley Miller of London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends during the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday July 10th, 2010 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Jones Funeral Home located at 407 Hammocks Road in Swansboro, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11th 2010 at 2 pm, at Spring Garden Baptist Church, located at 650 Spring Garden Road in New Bern, North Carolina with the Reverend David Phelps of Morehead City, North Carolina. Burial will follow in Spring Garden Cemetery.
