April 17, 1935 - July 16, 2010JACKSONVILLE - Joanne Litzenberg Thompson, 75, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at Britthaven Nursing Home of Jacksonville.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Revs. Jim Bender and Thurman Horney officiating.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Atlantic City, NJ and was the daughter of the late Charles and Edna Clifford Litzenberg. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Litzenberg; and sister, Edna Cassidy.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 41 years, Raymond “Walter” Thompson, Sr. of the home; three daughters, Linda Cullen Holland of Jacksonville, Joanne Costantino and her husband, Carl of Wake Forest and Debbie Doom and her husband, Scott of Colfax; two sons, David Cullen of Jacksonville and Raymond W. Thompson, Jr. of Greensboro; seven grandchildren, Eddie Holland, Jr., Melissa Shores , Natalie Costantino, Charlie Costantino, Lindsey Costantino, Amber Doom and Megan Doom; and her four-legged friend and companion, Baby.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the services, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to the Church of Christ Building Fund, 111 Roosevelt Drive, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
