Rudolph "Doc" Henderson
November 12, 1926 - July 28, 2010 HUBERT - Rudolph “Doc” Henderson, 83, of Hubert, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Pearson officiating.
Mr. Henderson was born November 12, 1926 and was a life long resident of Onslow County. He served in the US Navy and was a World War II veteran. He was a Past Master of the Seaside Masonic Lodge #429 and a Past President and active member of the Swansboro Rotary Club. He was a retired Cherry Point civil service employee.
Additionally, Doc was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
He was a very loving husband and father and will be missed by his family and friends.
His parents, William N. “Willy” and Minnie M. Henderson; brothers, Carroll and Eldridge Henderson; and sister, Hertha Koncir; all residents of Onslow County, precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Russell Henderson of the home; daughter, Sandra Bryant and her husband, Pat; son, Russell “Matt” Henderson and his wife, Julie; grandsons, Jason Denny and his wife, Jil, Jeremy Denny, Matthew Henderson and Michael Bryant; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah Jane Denny, all of the Bear Creek Community in Hubert.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 at the home of Matt and Julie Henderson, 174 Peninsula Manor Road, Hubert.
