Obituary

JACKSONVILLE – Jimmy Alonzo O’Brien, 83, of Jacksonville, North Carolina died on February 2, 2023 at his residence. A graveside service with military honors will be announced when a finalized date is set.

Jimmy was born on July 4, 1939 in Wyoming County, West Virginia to the late Charles O’Brien and Beulah Hurley O’Brien. Jimmy served in the United States Marine Corps where he did three tours to Vietnam and retired as a SSgt.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda O’Brien of the home; children, Robin O’Brien of Rhode Island and Derek O’Brien of Georgia; brother, Eddie O’Brien of Virginia; sister, Phillis Holly of Kansas; step-children, Michael Dodd and Danny Dodd; step-grandchildren, Chloe Dodd and Cody Dodd; sister-in-law, Sally O’Brien and several extended family members and friends.
