Obituary

Cape Carteret formerly of Rocky Mount- Jordan Gene Winstead, 64, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 30, 2022 with his family by his side.  He was born November 2, 1957 in Rocky Mount, NC a son of the late J. D. and Maxine Leigh Parker Winstead.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro with Rev. Ricky Tucker officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jordan grew up in Rocky Mount and fell in love with fire service and devoted many years of service to the Rocky Mount community at Stony Creek Fire and Rescue.  He loved to work with wood and could make any piece of furniture.  He was especially proud of his family and the life they made together in Rocky Mount and later in Cape Carteret.  His greatest joy was being with his friends and family.

He is survived by the love of his life, Lesa Leonard of the home; step daughter, Rocki Leonard of the home; step sons, Jason Leonard of TN and Tyler Leonard of Raleigh; grandchildren, Katie, Kamiani, Crissie, Cassie, and Catherine; and a brother, David Winstead of Rocky Mount.
