Michael James Lisiewski passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was a local of Hubert, NC where he resided with his beloved wife, Viola (Teenie) Poirier Lisiewski. Michael was the son of Joseph S. Lisiewski Sr. and Dorothy Pomo of Norwich, CT, and step-mother, Arlene Lisiewski, also of Norwich.
Michael was born at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune on May 28th, 1954 and spent his early years in Connecticut before joining the US Marine Corps and proudly serving from 1972 -1976. He later returned to Jacksonville, NC in 1985 and worked on Camp Lejeune for Civil Services from 1987 until 2019.
Michael was an avid car enthusiast who loved woodworking and meticulously tending to his yard.
Michael is survived by his sons: Michael Lisiewski II and Craig Lisiewski (Amber Lisiewski); Brothers: Joseph Lisiewski, Robert Bousquet, Kenneth Bousquet, and Donald Lisiewski; Sisters: Barbara, Laura, Mechelle, and Kelly. He has seven grandchildren: Natalia, Kayla, Aubrey, Xander, Arla, Savannah, Liam, and great-grandson, Valentino. He also loved and cherished his visits with all his brothers in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and close friends.
Michael is preceded by his brothers: Richard, Stephen, Frederick, and Thomas.
Michael’s life and memory will be celebrated at a private burial service held with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society in memory of Michael’s tenacious love of animals.
