Rita Hortensia Chavis, 73, of Jacksonville passed away at Carolina Rivers Nursing Home on October 24, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 26 at 1:00pm at the Onslow Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Rita was born in Midway Park on July 20, 1950 to the late, Richard and Pilar Martin. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Martin, Jr.

She is survived by one sister, Martha Martin of Jacksonville; and cousin, Emil Kloski of Florida.
