Obituary

JACKSONVILLE  -  JoAnne Watts Capps, 76, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her home.  Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday at Verona Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Powell officiating.  Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

     Mrs. Capps was a daughter of the late Walter Jefferson and Ruby Mae Johnson Watts.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Capps; and one brother, Billy Watts.

     Survivors include her son, Darrell Capps and his wife, Michelle of Maple Hill; her daughter, Laurie McLeod and her husband, David of Jacksonville; two brothers, Richard Watts of Jacksonville and Jeff Watts of MD; five grandchildren, Andrew McLeod and his wife, Brittany, Emily Battle and her husband, Walker, Will McLeod, Carson Capps and Bryson Capps; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Ryleigh McLeod.

     The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, at the church.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Verona Baptist Church, 1696 Haws Run Road, Maple Hill, NC 28454.
