Hubert- Frank Roland Rush, 76, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 13, 1942 in Louisville, KY son of the late, Frank Joseph and Elsie Mae Earhart Rush.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Swansboro with Rev. Robert Hall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Frank was the owner and operator of Community Lumber and Supply which he purchased in 1979. Prior to this, he was the president of the Vending Council for Servomation in Louisville, KY for over ten years. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Frank loved spending time with his family, which included his employees and customers. He loved music, having played in the band The Sultans for nine years as the drummer and the technical advisor.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Shellhamer Rush of the home; daughter, Kathryn Chandler and her husband, Joseph of Madison, IN; daughter in law, Elizabeth Ann Rush of Swansboro; grandchildren, Frank Christopher Rush, Whittney Michelle Denton (Josh), Alyssa Karen Brawner (Ray), and Jordan Rand Chandler; great grandchildren, Taylor Anne Rush, Shawn Michael Rush, Meghan Elizabeth Miller, and Walton Allen Brawner; niece, Jessica W. Shellhamer (Nick) of Winston-Salem; and nephew, Ross Shellhamer of Belfour, MD.
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Frank Thomas Rush, and his brother-in-law, Bruce Carlin Shellhamer.
