It is with great sadness that the family of Lottie M. Schimpf of Sneads Ferry, NC, announces her passing after a sudden illness, on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the age of 80 years. Lottie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gerald and her children, Deborah Divivier and husband Steve of Ridgeway, NY and Diane Lanier and husband Mark of Haws Run, NC. Lottie will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Meagan Palmer of Springfield, PA, Sarah Palmer of Philadelphia, PA, Kendall Lanier of Haws Run, NC and Laura Palmer of Seattle, WA; two great-grandchildren and her sisters, Bernice Guthrie of Sneads Ferry, NC, Lois Beaulieu of Sneads Ferry, NC and a brother, Raeford Foster of Sneads Ferry, NC. Lottie was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Thelma Foster of Sneads Ferry, NC and a brother, Kirby Foster of Beulaville, NC.
Lottie was a long-time resident of Sneads Ferry, NC and enjoyed reading, traveling and caring for her family. She was a loving and compassionate woman, who will be remembered by all who knew her. Lottie was the cherished wife of her husband of 61 years, Gerald H. Schimpf, USMC retired. She was proud to be a military wife and was a great supporter of her husband during his 20 year tenure in the USMC. Lottie will surely be missed but cherished memories of her will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm, at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville with Reverend Sandy Bain officiating. A private burial will be at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
