Sneads Ferry, NC -- Robert Dan "Bob" Bryant, 82, of Sneads Ferry passed away on November 23, 2018, surrounded by his family. Bob was born to the late Jack Bryant and Josephine Horton Bryant of Harnett County on May 23, 1936. He was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Bryant, and his sister, Shelba Jean King.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday Nov. 30, 2018 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
Interment will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veteran Cemetery in Jacksonville with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Brunhilde S. Bryant; children, Bruce Bryant and wife Debbie, Janet Bryant Bedsaul and husband Buddy, and Denise Bryant and husband, Eddie Hiatt; siblings, Billy Bryant and Herman Bryant; grandchildren, Elliott Bedsaul and Cameron Bedsaul; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army, including in the 101st and 82nd Airborne. He traveled the world, with his first and arguably best tour being in Germany, where he met and married the love of his life and started his family. Bob saw Okinawa, and Panama, and 2 tours in Vietnam. His last assignment before retiring was with the Golden Knights at Fort Bragg. He achieved Master Jumper status and a rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3.
His second career started as a licensed plumber, which lead to becoming a general contractor.
His last career was as a fisherman, where he had tremendous pleasure channel-netting for shrimp. He was a tireless advocate for the industry and the area, from the waters and wetlands, to the town limits of Sneads Ferry, also a member of Stump Sound Masonic Lodge #733, Bob was proud to be a member of the Sneads Ferry community,
