RICHLANDS  -  Agnes (Mary) Long Carney, 80, of Richlands, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.  Graveside funeral services for family will be held at Onslow Memorial Park with Rev. William Day officiating. In honor of Mary's wishes, there will be no visitation or formal funeral service.

Mrs. Carney was born to the late Garrett and Exie Buchanan Long.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Hopkins; and her brother, Don Long.

She is survived by her loving family, including her siblings, Eula Day (Arkie) of Kinston, Jerry Long of Beulaville, Darlene Pasch (Jim) of Bradenton, FL, Cathy Thigpen (Phillip) of Potters Hill, and Gary Long (Lisa) of Beulaville; her ex-husband and special friend, Tony Carney; and many nieces and nephews, Kim Childers (Jimmy), Terry Casper (Eddie), Eddie Long (Joy), Robbie Long, Angela Schmittel (Conrad), Jerilin Schank, Michelle Gutierrez, Bonnie Griffin (Jason), Travis Long, Wesley Long (Kristian), Tony Pasch (Teresa), Tara Pasch-Paine (Jeff), Christi Hanna (Tony), Jenny Sanderson (Justin), Nick Jones (Jessie), Carrie Froelich (Shawn), Gary Long Jr (Marisa), Garrett Long (Amanda), and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her great-nieces and great-nephews who adored her as a grandmother figure: Olivia Summerlin, Adalyn Jones, Stetson Jones, and Corbin Jones.

Mary dedicated over 30 years of her life working as a warranty clerk at Trent Cadillac GMC. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and her ability to make everyone around her feel special.

She will be remembered with love and fondness by all who knew her.
