JACKSONVILLE -  Allen Ray Jones, 72, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on March 30, 2025 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Services will be held later in May.

Allen was born on January 19, 1953, in Pink Hill, Lenior County, NC to the late Elbert A. Jones and Queenie I. (Brown) Jones. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy J. Bell, grandson Zane K. Jones, and brothers, Bobby R. Pierce and Elbert Jones.

Allen retired after 20 years from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech. Sergeant. Allen served in England, where he met his wife, Nebraska and Germany. He loved traveling and exploring where he was stationed. He went on many adventures with his family. He did many jobs in the service but mostly worked with computers. Following his service, he worked at the local Sam's Club, as a bus driver and a few other odd jobs. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Allen could always be found in his office where he volunteered faithfully as a clerk in his ward for several years. He talked of his church friends and family regularly. One of his favorite hobbies was genealogy research. Family history was very important to him. He encouraged others to do their own genealogy and become familiar with their family history. A hobby he enjoyed was board games. A couple of his favorites were Jenga and Risk. He loved strategy games.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia A (Whiting) Jones; 9 children, Charlotte E. Jones of CA, E. Jennie Stephens of GA, Meredith A. Stewart of MA, Meghan Caroline I. Simpson of GA, J. Mark Jones of England, J. Martin Jones of VA, Damien M. Jones of FL, Benjamin A. Jones of FL, and Matthew P. Jones of FL; 35 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Allen's siblings; L. Stanley Pierce, David Jones and Rebecca Nevitt, all of NC, Maribel Bleeker and Patricia Jantzen of FL, Tony Jones and Roxanne Jones-Schoen of GA, Maria Gabriela Jones of KY. Allen had many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that he loved like family. Allen was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him.
