HUBERT - Alton C. Davis "Bud", 88 of Hubert, N.C. went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2026.

He was born on May 27, 1937 in Bear Creek N.C.

Bud successfully ran Davis Auto Sales in Swansboro since June 1963. This is still known as the oldest independent dealership in Onslow County.
He was a founding and proud member of Swansboro Rotary Club, with 50 years of perfect attendance.
Bud is survived by his wife of 69 years, Kitty Davis, Grandson Tiger Davis (Erin), Great Granddaughter's Haylie and Kaydence Davis, nephews Jimmy Davis (Yana), Barry Matthews (Ruth), and Don Sweeting (Michelle)
Bud was proceeded in death by his son Michael Davis, parents Victor and Essie Davis, sisters Doris Sweeting and Christine Matthews, and brother Jimmy Davis.
Bud was known for his love and passion for NASCAR and his hero #3, Dale Earnhardt Sr. Bud was an active member of his church (Bear Creek Baptist) and his beloved city by the sea. A true people person, Bud never met a stranger-only friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:00pm at Bear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lominac officiating. Entombment will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 23, 2026, at The Rotary Building in Swansboro from 6-8pm.
