MSgt Andrew George Sullivan, USMC, retired, 42 died April 7, at UNC Hospital – Chapel Hill.

Andy is survived by his wife, Julie Christine Sullivan and their 7 children: "his" children Dylan and Abby; "hers" Matthew, Bridgette, and Michael (Beagle); and "ours" Rebekah and Russell.

Born in Syracuse, NY to Nancy Sullivan and Harry Sullivan (Barb). He was an Eagle Scout and graduate of Mexico Academy (Palermo, NY) where his two sisters, April (Brandin Greco) and Jill (Gary Bush) attended as well as brothers Joe, Mike, Marque and Danny (Melita). Danny preceded Andy in death. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

"Sully" enlisted in the USMC at 17 and had a highly decorated career as a sniper and instructor serving in many operations including the Global War on Terrorism and becoming a member of the Scout Sniper Association.

Following 23 years of service, his retirement was held on September 11, 2021 at Camp Lejeune, NC. Since retirement, Andy focused on time with family, hunting, and furthering his education with plans to provide ongoing mental health services to military members and their families.

Andy passed in the arms of his loving wife following a long valiant battle against the complications from COVID-19. Family will be receiving at the Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville on Friday, April 15 1-4 pm.

Andrew will be buried with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery following a service at Old Post Chapel on Wednesday, August 3rd at 3pm. Once laid to rest a final celebration of life will take place 6pm in downtown DC at the veteran-owned Cafe Vino (http://cafevinodc.com).
