August 5, 1952 – February 8, 2026
JACKSONVILLE - Ann Marie Messier Denoncourt, 73, left her earthly body and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was surrounded by her family, love and laughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Denoncourt was born on August 5, 1952, to the late Freda and Walter Messier in Springfield, Massachusetts. The youngest of three children, Ann Marie was musically inclined and spent her early years excelling in playing the accordion, piano and organ. It was while playing the accordion that she met the love of her life, Roger Denoncourt. They were married on June 21, 1971.
She and Roger built a life that spanned over 54 years, two countries and four states before settling in Jacksonville in 1993. Together they had four children, Michael, Jacqueline, Carolyn and Timothy. Over the years, Ann Marie was a teacher assistant, a preschool teacher and then a preschool director. Though her greatest work was taking care of Roger and being a Mom.
Ann Marie loved playing cards, watching sports and was passionate about the teams that she loved. She was an amazing cook and loved to throw a party. She took great pride in feeding her friends and family over the years and her lasagna, chicken wings, chili sauce, rice krispie treats and various breads will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Freda Messier.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Denoncourt; her four children, Michael Denoncourt (Denise) of Linden, VA, Jacqueline Treschl (Ben) of Burlington, NC, Carolyn Denoncourt (Randall) of Jacksonville, NC and Timothy Denoncourt (Jennifer) of Columbia, TN; her nine grandchildren, Jordan (James), Courtney, Jalen, Ana, Jenna, Gabriel, Ethan, Josiah and Mason; and her three great-grandchildren, Adonis, Gianna and Azarya; as well as her sister, Arline Theriaque; and brother, James Messier (Patty).
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2026 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.
