Obituary

JACKSONVILLE  -  Anna Wiles Richard, born December 31, 1953, died peacefully in her home Saturday, February 22, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Ann was born in Baltimore, MD.  While working as a secretary for the National Security Agency, she met the love of her life.  After four months of dating, they were married July 29th, 1973.  Ann then began her life as a military spouse moving to various states, supporting her husband's career while raising their daughter.  She was a loving wife, mother, a proud grandmother, and a devoted Catholic.  In her later years she began traveling on cruises, resumed her love of reading and enjoyed playing fetch with her dog Hershey.

Ann is survived by her husband Steven, daughter Dawn Richard Cook, son in law Matthew Cook, granddaughter Emerlyn Grace Meadows Cook, her brother Michael Wiles, along with extended family and friends she loved and loved her.  She is preceded in death by her mother Virginia Marsiglia Wiles and father Dwight Wiles, both of Glen Burnie, MD.

Ann loved animals.  In lieu of plants and flowers, please make a memorial to www.paws4people.org a nonprofit foundation specializing in raising, training, and placing service dogs with veterans, adults, and children.
