SWANSBORO  -  Ashley Waters Riggs "Buckeye", 82, of Swansboro, died Thursday, June 9, 2022 peacefully at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel.  Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Riggs was born March 16,1940 in Onslow County to the late Leon and Ethel (Heath) Riggs.  He was a hard-working farmer and businessman, but his family was always first in his heart.   When he was not in the woods hunting or in the creek fishing you could find him picking and grinning, singing his favorite songs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Jannery Daughtry; and brothers, Franklin and Jimmy Riggs

Survivors include his sons, Jamie Riggs and his wife, Tiffany of Hubert, Randall Riggs and his wife, Roxanna of Hubert, Cary Riggs of Hubert, and Warren Riggs and his wife, Stephanie of Moss Bluff, LA; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Riggs of Hubert; sister, Carol King of Emerald Isle; brothers, Travis Riggs of Hubert, Gene Riggs of Seagate, Reginald Riggs of Swansboro, O'Neil Riggs of Newport, Ted Riggs of Wilmington, and Sherrel Riggs of Swansboro; numerous nephews and nieces; and his girlfriend, Margrett Dixon.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
