Barbara Gosnell Woodward, 84, of Jacksonville, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Blue Creek Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Terry Hinson and Rev. Phillip Shepard officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mrs. Woodward was preceded in death by her husband, Sheriff Billy G. Woodward, Sr.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Billy G. Woodward, Jr. (Martha) of Jacksonville, Charles R. Woodward (Joy) of Jacksonville and Kay Woodward McCloskey (Kevin) of Surf City; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Kim Woodward McClure (David), Kerri Woodward Askew (Arthur), Jessica Woodward Dixon (Bert), Charles Justin Woodward (Justine) Jared Ray Woodward (Rachida), Kameron Ryan McCloskey and Kaley Brooke McCloskey (fiancé Reid Barrineau); and thirteen great-grandchildren Ashleigh McClure Brown (Brock), Austin Reno (Rebekah), Caroline Dixon, Katelin McClure, Isaac Dixon, Charles McDaniel, Chase Dixon, Luke Askew, Dillon Askew, Emerson Woodward, Dean Woodward, Allison Woodward and Liam Woodward.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.

The family request that memorials be made to National Cancer Association, Lower Cape Fear Hospice or a charity of your choice.
