Jacksonville, NC – Beedie Ruth Satterfield Wensil, 79, went to be with our heavenly Father Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home. A private service will be held at a later date.
A native of Greer, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Jeannette Satterfield. Her husband, Pete Wensil also precedes her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Kandey Butler of Jacksonville, Betty Jo Rex and her husband, Harold of Michigan, Kathy Metro and husband, Jim of Jacksonville and Karen Wakefield and husband, David of Jacksonville; 1 son, Joe Lee Wensil Jr. and wife, Kim of Jacksonville; a sister, Frances Kellett of SC and brother, Paul Satterfield and wife, Athalee of SC; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. And two special women Betsy Kratochvila and Angie Parrott that loved her dearly.
Mrs. Wensil was the Owner of Saigon Sam's Military Surplus with her late husband Pete for the past 54 years. She was a strong supporter of the military and law enforcement.
She loved to travel and her favorite place was to Bermuda, where she had numerous friends and was an avid supporter of the Royal Bermuda Regiment. She loved the beach and spent as much time as she could there.
Mrs. Wensil never met a stranger and helped anyone that ever needed anything. She always advocated for the elder and young children.
Her kind heart and charitable soul made her MAMA B. to everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401
