RICHLANDS  -  Bernice Thompson Sanders, 74, of Richlands, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening at First Baptist Church of Richlands with Revs. Jason Dunham, Gary McAbee and Jonathan Hardison officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sanders was a daughter of the late Ashley C. and Dicie Miller Thompson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian C. Sanders; and one brother, Jimmy Thompson.

Survivors include her children, Sandra Hardison and her husband, Mike of Kinston, Terry Hill and her husband, Garry of Pink Hill, Dina Sanders of Wilmington, Julie Sanders of Richlands and Chris Sanders and his wife, Bonnie of Richlands; one sister, Bonnie Melton and her husband, Roy of Surf City; two brothers, Billy Thompson and his wife, Jenny of Pink Hill and Bobby Thompson of Hubert; ten grandchildren, Joshua Hardison, Kayla Hardison, Jonathan Hardison, Hunter Batchelor, Carlie Taylor, Jared Hill, Christopher Sanders, Lillie Caton, Jackson Sanders and Emma Sanders; three great-grandchildren, Jensen Hardison, Ava-Jo Anderson and Karrington Hardison; sister-in-law, Jane Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, prior to the service, from 6 – 7 PM at the church.
