JACKSONVILLE - Wallace Alfred "Bud" Boudrow, 91, formerly of Jacksonville, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011, in Greensboro. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Jacksonville, with Rev. Hugh L. Mozingo officiating.
A resident of Jacksonville, NC, for more than 50 years, he moved to Greensboro recently to be near family.
Mr. Boudrow was born in Cambridge, MA, on March 29, 1920, to the late Alfred Thomas Boudrow and Helen Wallace Boudrow. He was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Marie Boudrow. He lived in Somerville, MA, until his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps in 1938. He served our country well in the Pacific Theater during World War II and in the Korean Conflict with the 1st Motor Transport Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he joined the Camp LeJeune Fire Department as a firefighter. He was a lifetime member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Disabled American Veterans, and New River Masonic Lodge #736; he was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Mr. Boudrow leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Bessie Louise Bailey Boudrow. He was a gentle and loving father to two daughters, Eleanor Boudrow Perzel and her husband, Edward of West Jefferson and Joan Boudrow Ward and her husband, William of Greensboro; and a son, Stephen Michael Boudrow, of Sherrill's Ford. He is also survived by a cherished granddaughter, Channing Marie Koonce of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 1115 LeJeune Blvd., Jacksonville, NC 28540 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
