JACKSONVILLE  -  Carol Alice Begun, 73, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on May 16, 2025. Memorial services with Rev. Jim Jarman will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with military honors.

Carol was born on April 3, 1952 in San Gabriel, California to the late Richard and Alice Smith. Carol served honorable with the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Yeoman Third Class.  She was also a Pharmacist, an accomplished seamstress, and a loving mother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Begun; daughter, Ariel (Ezra) Begun of Baltimore, MD; son, David Begun of Jacksonville; siblings, Sandy Vaupel (Jim) of Michigan, Randy Smith of Illinois, and Richard Smith of New Hampshire; and several extended family members and friends.
