JACKSONVILLE  -  Catherine Rochelle McClain, affectionately known as "Cathi", passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, just eight days shy of her 74th birthday.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Pastors David Love and James DeLuca officiating.  Entombment will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Born on August 14, 1951, Catherine was a lifelong resident of Onslow County, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Doyle McClain; her parents, James and Reba Rochelle; and her brothers, Ed Rochelle and Wayland Rochelle.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Jones, whose husband, Jackie, preceded her in death; her sister, Darlene Yopp (Tommy); her brother, Wesley Rochelle (Joyce); and her sister-in-law, Julia Rochelle. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Denise Langlois (Tom) and Darlene Sanderson (Joey). Catherine also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Catherine devoted 37 years of her life to First Citizens Bank, where she was a trusted and familiar face to generations of customers. She loved each one of them dearly, treating everyone who walked through the doors with warmth and respect. She had a special place in her heart for her elderly customers, often going out of her way to care for them with dignity, patience, and sincere kindness. They loved her in return, trusting her, appreciating her gentle nature, and looking forward to seeing her smile.

As a family, we will miss Catherine more than words can express. Her absence leaves a deep and tender hole in our hearts. Yet even in our grief, we hold fast to the hope of heaven, knowing that this goodbye is not forever. One day, we will be with her again where all is made whole and joy never ends.
