Charles "Chuck" Joseph Barone, a devoted man of faith, passed away at home on August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 21, 1942, to Michael and Catherine Barone, he earned a Bachelor of Science from Campbell University and earned a Master's Degree from the Industrial College of Armed Forces. He was an accomplished military officer who served our country with distinction the USMC for 28 years, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. He also owned Barone's Office Supply in Jacksonville, North Carolina, until retirement. In his retirement years, he engaged in community activities and Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.

He was the cherished husband of Ruth Ann Oliver Barone for over 60 years; father to his three children Michael, Karen (John), and Mark (Kristina); grandfather to Brianna, Lauren, Savannah (Zack), Olivia, Sophia (Elijah) and Juliana; great-grandfather to Isabella, Jaxon, Bodhi, Niles, Porter, and Brooks. Charles is also survived by his extended family Betty (Andy), Linda and Robert. He was a beloved uncle to two generations of nieces and nephews.

Talented in artistry and woodworking, Chuck enjoyed stamp collecting, target practice, fishing, and boating. He was extremely generous and always ready to help others. He had a hearty laugh and was always up for an adventure. Chuck will be missed by many. A family gravesite service was held at Onslow Memorial Park on September 5, 2025.
