JACKSONVILLE  -  Charlotte Susan Pearson McLain, 61, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.  Memorial services will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Catalyst Church, 1985 Gum Branch Road, Jacksonville, NC.

Professionally, Ms. McLain devoted many years to the insurance industry, where she was known for her integrity, strong work ethic, and heartfelt care for her clients.

She is survived by her devoted son, Dr. Dalton Frederick Hornsby; three brothers, Oscar Garmony Pearson, Charles Frederick Pearson II, and Tracy Leroy Pearson; and two sisters, Janice Carleen Eldridge and Florena Marie Pearson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Douglas Pearson Sr. and Alberta Ruth Weimer Pearson, along with her brothers, George Bruce Bowen and Hugh Douglas Pearson Jr.

Charlotte will be remembered as a loving mother, loyal sister, and cherished friend. Her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion to family, and deep compassion touched the lives of all who knew her.
