RICHLANDS  -  Roger "Chris" Christopher Jones, 65, of Richlands, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at his home.

Chris was full of fun, laughter, and mischief. He was always a bright spot at gatherings, especially those with family. Chris loved his family fiercely and his grandchildren had a special place in his heart, but that didn't cause him to hold back giving his honest opinions whether asked for them or not. Chris was passionate about reading, golf, and Tar Heel basketball. His brief battle with cancer did not dim his bright personality or his gift for gab.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Grace Jones.

He is survived by wife of almost 45 years, Wanda Jones; children, Anthony Fife (Amy) and Dawnn Fife Gulledge (Wells); grandchildren, Bronson, Cavan, Renzi, Elston, Brinkley, and Baker; brothers, Earl Jones (Kathy), Randy Jones (Diana), and Terry Jones (Ayca); brother-in-law, Gairy Canady (Lisa); sister-in-law, Patricia Pike (Larry); and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral and celebration of Chris's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. The family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday evening, February 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
