Newport- Christine Mary Jones, 73, passed away Tuesday, February 18,2025 at Carolina East Medical Center. She was born November 20,1951 in Detroit, MI a daughter of the late Edward Daniel and Carol Mae Goupie Lamanski.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Christine was a school librarian at Barnes Elementary School for 25 years. She also managed "This Cups for You" where she met many great breast cancer survivors and they formed a special bond. She enjoyed helping the lady's look and feel great!

Mom loved taking everyone camping when we were kids, we always took friends with us to Warren Dunes and had a blast.  We always looked forward to school ending cus we knew it was camping time!

Christine loved the beach and going to the pool with her grandkids, she would always laugh how they always ran to the water before everything was set up, you would see nana chasing kids down the beach. At the pool she would read her books and get some sun time and chat with her friends.

Christine loved traveling with her loving husband of 53 years. They enjoyed traveling to Gettysburg and walking the battlefields and soaking up the history. They would always find the best little restaurants to eat at and the coolest motels to stay at. They would form special bonds with the owners and always come back to stay and eat on their travels.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Jones of the home; sons, Jeffrey Jones (Rebecca) of Hubert and Bradley Jones (Emily) of Nixa, MO; grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob (Sheyenne)  Stephen, and Zoey.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Clapp.

Christine would want you to take a day for yourself to read a book, enjoy family or lay on the beach and enjoy life.
