HUBERT  -  Christopher "Ethan" Edwards, 31 of Hubert, North Carolina died unexpectedly in a boating accident January 1st, 2024. Ethan was born in Jacksonville on July 20,1992 to Doug and Sharon Edwards.

Ethan met the love of his life, Nicole while attending the University of Mount Olive. They began dating in 2013 and were excited to start their new lives together. The two were married in August 2014. Ethan had a soft spot for his furry friend, Bentley and he was a huge part of his family.

Ethan was passionate and dedicated about his role as the County Executive Director at Farm Service Agency. He had worked there since graduating college in 2014.

Everyone who knew Ethan knew how much he loved fishing, hunting, beaching and golfing. Ethan will always be remembered for his skillset on how to do anything from cooking to woodwork, his infectious smile, and to do anything to help everyone.

We couldn't have asked for a better son, grandson, and husband and we will miss him everyday. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. Ethan was a very special and gifted individual who has had a tremendous impact on many lives and will forever be remembered for his intellect and knowledge to do anything. He was truly an All American individual.

Ethan is survived by his wife Nicole Powell Edwards of the home, mother Sharon Edwards-Sawyer and husband/stepfather Jeff Sawyer, grandmother Louise Morton, his in-laws, Glenn & Angela Powell, and brother in-law, Josh Graham, stepsisters Tina Marie Sawyer, Jessica Sawyer Heath, and Cierra Starr Parker, his uncle Duane Morton, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ethan was preceded in death by his dad, Doug Edwards, his grandfathers, Pete Morton and Bill Edwards and grandmother Charlotte Edwards.

Visitation will be Thursday night, January 4 from 6-8pm and the funeral service will be Friday, January 5 at 10 am in the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville
