It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of CHRISTOPER KELLY "PAPA" LEWIS,

60, of Cape Carteret. My loving husband had a fatal heart attack on his way home

from work on Thursday but by Saturday he was not responding to all the efforts to save him.

Passed on April 18th.

Kelly was born on 12/19/1965 in Wilmington, NC. He was a graduate of UNCW Marine

Biology. A Navy Veteran with a huge passion for fishing and outdoors. He was a great

storyteller of his adventures as a waterman and his immense knowledge.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Janet L Lewis, and his 2 goldendoodles, Buddy and Huey.

The son of William F Lewis and Norma C Lewis (deceased) of Wilson. His favorite person

was his brother Keagy H Lewis (deceased). He also leaves behind two brothers, William

Lewis and Edward Lewis, two nephews, Bankston and Curran Lewis.

His extended family is the Stewart clan: Jean D Stewart (deceased) , William, Dora, Andrew, Daniel and Jordan.

Special thanks to all his many friends, as he would say "What a fine howdy doo". Left us too soon!

The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2026, from 3-5 pm at Jones Funeral Home- Swansboro. Following the visiting hours the family will have a gathering at 34N in Cape Carteret.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
