Swansboro- Christopher Scott Shearin, 58, passed away February 12, 2026, at Carteret Healthcare. He was born April 4, 1967, in Bristol, TN, a son of the late William Robert and Myrtle Freeman Shearin.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 18,2026, at 4:30pm at One Harbor Church-Swansboro.

Chris faithfully served his country in the US Army and the National Guard. He then began a career in the hospitality business and completed his career at the Islander in Emerald Isle where he loved to assist visitors with anything he could to make their stay enjoyable and memorable.

He is survived by his wife, Cathylyn Shearin of the home; children, Michael Shearin (Emily) of Johnson City, TN and Kathryn "Sierra" Williams (Timothy) of Jacksonville; stepchildren, Briana Ott and Samantha Taddio both of AZ; grandchildren: Braxton, Tucker, Lilly, Xander, and Miller; and his siblings, Roy Shearin, Larry Shearin, Janice Wallace and Candy Hurd.

He was preceded in death by his sister Ann Blaylock.
