Clyde B. Finley passed away on May 10, 2026 in Jacksonville, NC with family by his side. Funeral services will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 11am.

Born November 14, 1944 in West Columbia, TX to Earl and Margaret (McDowell) Finley who predeceased him. Clyde was 1 of 8 children, who all grew up in Newellton, Louisiana. In the summer of 1968, he met Mary Fausz and married on November 4, 1968 in Jacksonville, NC. They were married over 40 years until her passing on March 4, 2014.

Clyde is survived by his 2 children Jerry Finley (Jennifer Etscheidt) of Jacksonville, NC and Kimberly (Shannon) Young of Nevada, OH. Two grandchildren Houston (Colby Bledsoe) Etscheidt and Shayne Young. In addition to his children and grandchildren he is also survived by 3 brothers Martin, Robert, David and one sister, Diane. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was proceeded in death by two brothers Medgar, James and one sister, Faye. Clyde will be remembered in the community as an outstanding coach, referee, umpire and hunter.

Family will be receiving visitors at the home of his son Jerry Finley located at 5003 West Red Oak Court, Jacksonville, NC 28546.

Visitation services will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm.
