Daisy King
Gray
November 5, 1932 – September 19, 2025
Daisy Bell King Gray, 92 passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Kempton of Jacksonville. Daisy was born on November 5,1932 to Lloyd V. and Bell Phillips King. On June 1, 1949, she married Billy Hegial Gray. They were married for 52 years when he passed away in 2002. Together, they raised three children- Jatana, Billy Jr. and Christopher. Ms. Daisy spent most of her career as a cashier at the downtown Stewart and Everett Theaters in Jacksonville in the sixties and seventies. She and her husband also operated Helen's Kitchen for a brief time in the 1980's.
Daisy deeply loved her family and was blessed to share her life with five generations who cherished her in return. She found joy in cooking for her loved ones and is fondly remembered by her grandchildren for her famous chicken & rice and hunting eggs. Holidays, especially Christmas and family birthdays, were times she looked forward to with great excitement. Her generosity was unmatched. Daisy also enjoyed traveling on cruises and playing cards—though she never liked to lose. Most of all, she stood faithfully by her children through every season of life. Her love and presence will be missed beyond words.
Survivors include her daughter: Jatana Camp (Glenn), her sons; Billy H. Gray, Jr. (Francisca)
All of Jacksonville and Christopher D. Gray of Phoenix, AZ., her grandchildren; Matthew
Camp (Sonya), Wendy Fulcher, Courtney Gray, Tiffany Pate, Giordanne Silvaggio (Nicholas)
