Darrell Fields, 76, formerly of Jacksonville, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesburg, KY with Caleb Howard officiating. Burial followed at the Lansford Fields Cemetery in Cowan, Kentucky. There will be no local services held in Jacksonville.
Darrell was the son of the late Lansford J. and Alma Jones Fields. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Delmas Fields and Kenneth Ray Fields; and one sister, Linda Ann Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Sumpter Fields; daughters, Darrella Cavenaugh (Charles Cavenaugh) of Clayton, NC and Alma Dorothea "Dottie" Austin (William Austin) of Troy, AL; six grandchildren, Sarah (Robbie) Harvell, Cody Austin, Lance (Ashley) Cavenaugh, Brandy Johnson, Mary Cavenaugh, and Stephen Cavenaugh; and five great-grandchildren, Addison Harvell, Dylan Miller, Chase, Chloe, and Taska Johnson.
The family received friends Wednesday evening at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
