Hubert- Deanna Lou Somers, 80, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 4, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born June 8, 1945 in Boston, MA.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 from 6-8pm at Jones Funeral home- Swansboro. She will be placed to rest with her parents in Vermont at a later date.

Deanna loved music, birds, and the fall time of the year especially the changing colors of the trees. During High School she was in the marching band for President John F. Kennedy's Inauguration and then attended Hart College to pursue her dream of becoming an opera singer. Her greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her family and friends.

She is survived her loving sister, Cheryl King of NH;  her daughters, Heidi Frears (Roger) of VA and Kristin Tavernier of the home; grandchildren, Rachelle, Nicholas, Benjamin, Brandon, Monica, Jacqueline, Zachary, Justin, Ashley, Amber, Kyle, and R.J.; and great grandchildren, Stevie, Karlynn, Ryley, Nicki, Hunter, Kiaira, Manuel, Aryann, Achilles, Kinsley, Noah, Jayden, and Elena and great-great grandchildren, Liam, Lucas, and Nova.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Dorothy Somers; and a great-great grandson, Solice.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brandon Atkins Autism Fund through Navy Federal Credit Union.
