Jacksonville – Derrick Lee Trott, 42, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on August 16, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Rev. David Jarman officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Onslow Memorial Park.

Derrick was born on March 17, 1984, in New Bern, North Carolina to Duffy Lee Trott, Jr. and Lee Ellen Humphrey. He is preceeded in death by his grandparents, Juanita and David Humphrey, and Duffy, Sr. and Marie Trott.

He is survived by his mother, Lee Ellen Humphrey; father, Duffy Lee Trott, Jr.; children, Savannah Trott and Dylan Trott; siblings, David Trott and Dustin Trott (Cassie); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.
