JACKSONVILLE— Diane Myra Milligan Bertrand, 70, passed on August 4, 2026, with her loving family at her side. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Onslow Memorial Park.

Diane was born February 18, 1956, in Jacksonville to the late Carol Susan Rivers Milligan and Elbert Luther Milligan, Sr. She graduated from Jacksonville Senior High School in 1974 and earned an associate degree from Coastal Carolina Community College in 1976. She worked as a skilled and dedicated legal secretary and bookkeeper for 50 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law Gene Bertrand; father-in-law Horace Bertrand; and brother Elbert Luther Milligan, Jr.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Michael Glenn Bertrand of 47 years; daughter Nicole B. Gonzalez; son Sean M. Bertrand; son-in-law Jaime Gonzalez; grandchildren Rebecca, Andres, Noah, Aaron and Dax; sisters Alma M. LiRocchi and Deirdre M. Shore; and brother John H. Milligan.

Diane was faithful to family members, her many dear friends, God and country, always putting others’ needs before her own. She loved animals and history, and her doors and her heart were forever open to family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
