Donald Harold Edmondson, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 27, 2021 at his home in Jacksonville, NC. Don was a man who rarely met a stranger, and rarely had a conversation that lasted less than 10 minutes.  He was a gifted storyteller with perhaps a slight knack for embellishment.  Don could spend countless hours working outdoors in the family's yard, always with a Bojangles cup close at hand.  His greatest pride was his children, and his grandchildren - his yard being a close third.

Don worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor for 29 years where he assisted countless individuals enter the workforce or pursue higher education goals.

He is preceded in death by his father Harold Edmondson; brother-in-law Jack Jones; and nephew Benji Edmondson.

Don is survived by his mother Deanie Edmondson; wife Terri F. Edmondson; daughter Hayden Simon and husband Thomas; son Nelson Edmondson and wife Anna; siblings Esther Jones and Rudy Edmondson; nephew Will Jones; grandsons Ethan Simon, Jones Simon, and Benjamin Edmondson.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 4 at 11:00am at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, NC.
