Dorothy May Steves Bruderer, 92, passed away peacefully at her daughter's (Donna) home on September 29, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 9:00am, at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC.  Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, NC with military honors at 10:00am.

Dorothy was born in Philadelphia, PA to her late parents, Raymond Leroy Steves (United States Navy) and Florence Riddell Steves. She retired at Camp Lejeune, NC, as a contracting supervisor with Civil Service and served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Walter J. Bruderer, siblings Eleanor, Betty and Raymond, and grandson Jordan. Survivors include her loving children, Donna Bierly (Sherman), Walter (Diana), William (Patty) and Robert (Bridgett) and six grandchildren Shane Bierly, Shauna Bierly, Cheyanne Bierly, Ryan Bruderer, Macie Bruderer and Lilliana Roberts, and loyal Elsie.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
