Dorothy M Jones of Jacksonville, NC, originally from Lake George, NY, went to the Lord on August 31, 2025. She persevered until the very end.

Prior to relocating to Jacksonville, Dot was employed at the Greenwich Journal as a typist which is located in Greenwich, NY. During these times she was a trail blazing woman for her era while also raising a family.

After her retirement, she relocated to Jacksonville with her husband Charles C Jones, better known as Charlie. She immediately became involved with the VFW where she served for a period of time as Chaplin. Dot also was a member of the Onslow County Republican Party. She volunteered in several national, state, county and local elections.

Dorothy is survived by her son, George "Ed" Dutcher and his wife, Denice, both of Jacksonville. Also, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation is at Jones Funeral Home located in Jacksonville on September 7th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The funeral is on September 8th at 1 pm and the burial is immediately after at the Coastal State Veterans Cemetery.
