SWANSBORO  -  Dwight Barden Lanier, 61, of Swansboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 23, 2025 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born January 18th, 1964 in Burgaw, NC. He was a devoted father to two surviving daughters, Caroline Lanier of the home and Elizabeth Lanier of Swansboro, NC along with a grandson, Marshall Nunn. He had a successful career as the owner of East Coast Land Improvement, Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Dwight grew up in Maple Hill and Jacksonville, NC. He is survived by his parents Phoebe and Barden Lanier of Swansboro, NC, and brother Brent (Patty) Lanier of Swansboro, NC. Funeral service will be held on January 26th, 2025 at Maple Hill Presbyterian Church (4860 NC Hwy 50 Maple Hill, NC 28454). A private family committal service will be held at a later date. Donations in Dwight's honor may be made to Samaritans Purse or a charity of your choice.
