Swansboro- Edward Daniel Martin, 84, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 14,2025. He was born on March 25,1941 in Stuart, VA, a son to the late James Junior and Louise Lawson Martin.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17,2025, at 11:00am in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro with Rev. Robbie Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 18,2025, at 1:00pm at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410.

Ed was a member of Peletier First Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the choir and as deacon. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and then was employed for 35 years at Lorillard in Greensboro, but his greatest enjoyment was being with his wife, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda Martin of the home; children: Troy Martin (Leigh) of Kernersville, Tony Martin (Sandra) of Gibsonville, David Jones (Frances) of Peletier, Mark Jones of Bogue, Lynn Jones (Aubrey) of Wrightsville Beach, and DJ Styron of Bogue; grandchildren: Heath, Alyse, Kyle, Kolby, Adam, Angela, April, Bethany, Bridget, Timothy, Brandon, Brittiny, Chase, and Cameron; 27 great grandchildren; siblings, James Martin (Jan) of Monroe and Faye Smith of Lexington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Martin and brother-in-law, Tommy Smith.
