Jacksonville – Edwin Carl Simmons, Jr., 96, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on November 4, 2026, at his residence surround by his family. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mr. Simmons was born on September 10, 1930, in Pike County, Mississippi to the late Edwin Carl Simmons, Sr. and Loyce R. Simmons. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Glen Simmons; siblings, Jimmy Simmons, Helen Carrier, and Edna Wilburn; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Simmons.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Simmons; children, Marie Hudson (Kaye), Janice Parker (Danny), and Craig Simmons (Carol); 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
