RICHLANDS – Edwina  Mae Barber Flemming, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and close friend to all who knew her, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 , at the age of 56.  Edwina is survived by her husband, John Flemming of Jacksonville; two sons, Jonathan Flemming and wife Tara of Richlands, Michael Flemming and wife Julie of Richlands; four grandchildren, Rachael, Jacob, Gracen, and Waylon; her parents; Walter W Barber and wife Jacquelyn Gurganus Barber; five sisters, Marie Marshburn of Pink Hill, Denise Sock of Maine, Abigail Engle of Beulaville, Tammie McDaniel of Richlands and Cassondra Maready of Jacksonville and a host of other family and friends.

Edwina could always be found cheering at the ball field where she never missed a baseball or softball game for each of her treasured grandchildren. It was her loved ones that made up the entirety of her whole world. She was a caring, loving and independent woman. She loved without reserve and gave of herself without reservation.  Edwina relished at being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and being on the water.  Her compassionate spirit and caring for others could easily be witnessed throughout her work as a nurse at Premier Rehablitation and Nursing Center of Jacksonville. Edwina will be desperately missed by all those that she's left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

A visitation is scheduled 6:00-8:00PM Sunday evening at Jones Funeral Home in Richlands. A funeral service is scheduled 12:00PM Monday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands with Rev. David Love officiating.  Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
