Emerald Isle- Eleanor Rucks Gunn, 95, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2017 at the home of her daughter and son in law, Denise and Charles Chase. She was born April 25, 1922 in Queens, NY daughter of the late William and Katherine Grabber Rucks.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 16, 2017, at 11:00 AM at St Francis by the Sea Church, 920 Salter Path Rd. Salter Path NC with the Rev. L. Everett Thomas, Ph.D. officiating.
She raised her family in Valley Stream, Long Island and after her husband's death she relocated to the Courtyards at Berne Village NC in 2009.
She is survived by daughter, Denise Chase (Charles) of Emerald Isle; sons, Edward Gunn (Naomi) of Statesville and Richard Gunn (Ginny) of Westbury, NY; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Edward Gunn in 2005.
