Swansboro- Elizabeth Carney Baggs, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday January 7, 2019.  She was born September 9, 1928 in Onslow County, NC daughter of the late, Robert Lee and Lillian Phillips Carney.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Swansboro at 11:00 AM with Dr. Larry Harper officiating.  Burial will follow at the Piney Grove Baptist Church.  The familywill receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elizabeth loved her family and her church.

She is survived by sons, Jim Baggs (Fran) of Fuquay-Varina and Brady William Baggs (Eve) of Clayton; grandchildren, Jamie Harloe (Fielding) of Cary, Harrison Baggs of Chapel Hill, and Charlie Baggs of Clayton; Patty Brown, Kathy Humphries, and Stephanie Guznman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Baggs and an infant son.
