Elton Lynn
White
Jun 16, 1958 — Apr 16, 2023
Elton Lynn White, 64, of Maysville, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Elton grew up in Maysville and graduated from White Oak High School in 1977. During his childhood, he developed a love for the outdoors, especially deer hunting with his brothers and friends.
In 1987, Elton married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Brenda. They faithfully served the Lord together at First Baptist Church of Maysville, where Elton was an active deacon with a true servant's heart.
After many years of prayer, the Lord blessed Elton and Brenda with a beautiful daughter, Gracie. She completed their family, and the three of them shared many wonderful times together. Some of their fondest memories include trips to Myrtle Beach, the Outer Banks, and watching NASCAR races every Sunday after church.
For 38 years, Elton was a dedicated employee of Modern Exterminating Company in Jacksonville. He loved his job but had an even greater love for his employers and co-workers, whom he considered family.
Elton was loved by all who knew him and was a shining example of what it looked like to live a Godly and honorable life. He was a light for the Lord everywhere he went, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Joe White Sr., mother, Sarah White, and brother, Joe White Jr. Elton is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda, daughter Gracie; brothers John White (Debbie) of New Braunfels, TX, Douglas White (Patty) of Maysville, NC, sister Cheryl Smith (Smitty) of Maysville, NC; Father and Mother-in-law, Buck and Mary Morton of Maysville, NC, brother-in-law Rusty Morton (Lula) of Maysville, NC, sisters-in-law Linda Melville of Maysville, NC and Debbie Harper (Chris) of Jacksonville, NC, numerous nieces and nephews, and his sweet dog Winnie Pooh.
All services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Maysville, NC with visitation on Thursday, April 20th from 6:00-7:30 PM and funeral on Friday, April 21st at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will take place immediately following the funeral at Onslow Memorial Park at 3:00 PM. The Church is located at 201 Main Street, Maysville, NC 28555.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elton's Memory to First Baptist Church of Maysville through the website www.firstbaptistmaysville.com, or by mail, PO Box 208, Maysville, NC 28555.
