RICHLANDS - Ernest Edgar Thomas, 85, of Richlands, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Ed Thomas, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Mr Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Koonce Thomas; son, Ernest "Bubba" Edgar Thomas, Jr.; parents, Jessie and Olive Thomas; brother, Edward Thomas; and sisters, Lila Sullivan, Marjorie Riggs and Dorothy Rackley.
Survivors include daughters, Charlotte Stringfellow and her husband, Robert of FL, Diane Gebhardt of Richlands, Gail Pylant and her husband, Herschel, Jr. of Jacksonville; son, Michael Tyndall of Jacksonville; sisters, Irene Wise of MD, Eloise Parker of Wilmington, Margaret Betts of OH, Patricia Mosior of Jacksonville and Lois Petelinker of Wilmington; grandchildren, Jessica Gebhardt, Jennifer Rich, Wyatt Tyndall, Herschel Pylant III, Lauren Hoss, Carrie Mullen, Matthew Stringfellow, Aric Thomas, Anthony Thomas and Ashton Thomas; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday morning, prior to the service, from 10:00 until 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
