Evelyn Ray Tackett, 90, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville, NC. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Pastors Randall Pearce and Frinchie Lowery Jr officiating the service.

Graveside service will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC at 2:00pm.

Evelyn was born January 21,1935, in Grafton, WV, daughter of the late Blanche Scull and Harry Helmick. She is survived by her son, Michael Tackett.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Ray Tackett, and her sisters, Louise Dunn, Mary Shaw, and her son, Charles Ray Tackett Jr.

Evelyn served her country in the US Navy.
