Swansboro- Frederic Ruehr, Jr., 83, peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 3,2025, at the Gardens of Trent in New Bern, NC. He was born January 23,1942, in Altoona, PA a son of the late Frederic Ruehr, Sr. and Anne McGuire Ruehr.

A service will be held Tuesday, December 9,2025, at 3:00pm in the Mausoleum Chapel of Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

Fred was a loving father and grandfather and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He faithfully served his country in the US Army National Guard and was a draftsman in the construction business.

He is survived by his children: Kathleen Ruehr of Morehead City, Jane Coltabaugh of Swansboro, Steve Ruehr (Mandy) of New Bern, and Jennifer Ruehr of Morehead City; "adopted daughter", Jennifer Milam of Swansboro; grandchildren: Jessica, Alex, Seth, Gabriel, David, Aidan, and Caden; greatgrandchildren: Violet, Eugene, and Beau; and brother, Michael Ruehr of FL.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nick Coltabaugh.
